Refund of ticket fares for trains cancellation on account of COVID-19

1)      In pursuance of Railway Board’s instructions, Tiruchchirappalli Division, Southern Railway is arranging full refund to ticket   fares for trains cancelled from 22/03/2020 to 30.06.2020 o­n account of COVID-19.

2)      As per latest instructions from Railway Board all tickets booked for the regular time tabled trains for journey dates from 01.07.2020 to 12.08.2020 may be cancelled and full refunds generated. Hence refund for all the tickets booked between the above period will be given as per details below. 

3)Refunds are being arranged at Reservation counters overTPJ division in the following locations-

1. Tiruchchirappalli Jn,

2. Thanjavur Jn,

3. Kumbakonam,

4. Mayiladurai Jn,

5. Ariyalur,

6.Villuppuram Jn










Counter working hours for the above 15 locations will be from 10.00hrs to 17.00 hrs.

The reservation counters on all Sundays in the month of July 2020 shall be closed due to total lockdown declared by Tamil Nadu government.

The refunds will be made available in a staggered manner as shown below so as to minimize the queues at the counters and to ensure social distancing for the protection of our passengers.

The staggered disbursal of refunds will be carried out at all the above locations in the

All COVID-19 precautions should be strictly enforced at the counters. Social distancing norms should be ensured in queues and between queues.

No persons will be allowed at the PRS Counters without wearing the masks.
