Salem division is pioneer in introducing the Innovative scheme for travelling public.


Today 21.02.20, Textile counter for Advertisement and Sales purpose at Erode Railway station has been inaugurated by Shri E. Harikrishnan IRTS Senior Divisional Commercial Manager.


In order to augment the Non Fare Revenue earnings of the Division, Division has finalized a new innovative proposal. Textile counter for advertisement and Sales purpose has been set at Erode.

The objective of proposal is display of advertisement on the Texstore and Sale of textile products. The contract has been awarded to M/s. B & B Textile, Erode (Brand name Uathayam Dhoties).

Under the Newly innovated Non Fare Revenue Idea Scheme for the period of one Year fetching the annual license fee of Rs. 3,44,600 /- ( Rupees Three lakhs forty four thousand six hundred only).

The Salient feature of Textile Store will have the Sale and display of Textiles items Viz.,

Dhoties, shirts, Sarees and towels.

This store will function round the clock.


Shri E. Harikrishnan Senior Divisional Commercial manager Salem further informed that, New innovative ideas from Public/Firms/Customers are invited and Railways will consider the same if the ideas are commercially viable and benefit of passenger.
